• Surpasses my expectations and previous voice coaching

  Michael Woodstra has proved to be my ultimate and most significant guide into a hitherto unparalelled progression in using my voice box and body as an instrument, taking my voice from problematic to making singing once again a joy. After years of gigging and being in bands, I was experiencing debilitating problems with breathing and pitching having developed and been taught some bad habits. I had acquired some issues which I had begun to think were serious. However after just two sessions most of these issues had been resolved. I have had several voice coaches; and actually made adverse progress! Michael understands the physiology and psychology behind superb projection and pitching. Progress under his expert tuition has been thorough, amazing and fun. I cannot recommend him highly enough. His coaching has been profound and has revealed parallels in other areas of my life, helping me to address issues such as overworking things and trying too hard not just in singing but other life experiences too!

• Excellent Vocal Coach

  I am a musician with over 30 years experience. The last 10 years working with internationally acclaimed tribute acts in the UK and Europe. I came to Michael at The Voice Academy to improve my voice and confidence in singing. I found Michael has a very intuitive, patient and understanding style. He is gifted, teaching with a passion, enthusiasm and dedication. He does demand very high standards but in a comfortable safe way. Michael has the unique ability to bring out the best in people and it is Michael’s unique style that has significantly influenced me, improved my voice and improved my career in the music industry. As a performer I have made some really great discoveries when working with Michael. There are times when I can’t believe the improvement in my voice! Michael has allowed me to believe in myself, my voice and given me the confidence I sought. I continue to work with him. as each lesson brings more. I am now looking forward to singing and the next gig! I wholeheartedly recommend Michael to anyone professional or beginner who wishes to significantly improve their voice, or seeks excellence, gain confidence and enjoy the love of singing.

• Top level professional - and friendly with it

  Michael is the third vocal coach I have worked with, and I have already achieved more in 2 sessions than I managed with the previous 2 coaches. He has a keen eye for identifying physical problems with technique. This is combined with a strong interest in knocking down the psychological barriers to singing, and the use of recording technology to make you identify yourself what can be improved. I can't wait for the rest of the course, but in the meantime, I'm back out on the road gigging. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
