If the papers are to be believed(and who knows) then there are signs that things are slowly beginning to improve for a lot of people. Unfortunately there are those that have lost their jobs and are having a hard time of it, but a lot of other people are still working and due to the extremely low Bank of England interest rate, have money to spend and are spending it!I heard this morning that retail sales had risen again for the 5th time in 5 months which is very encouraging for us all and creates confidence for consumers.( Things are also pretty cheap at the moment, which is great!)We have been extremely busy ourselves, especially since my last blog. Our customer base is rapidly expanding and we currently have ongoing works in Brighton, East Grinstead, Billingshurst, Newhaven, Lewes and of course Worthing, where we are based (but not confined to!)The majority of our work is gained through customer references and recommendations, which can be verified by visiting www.Checkatrade.co.uk to view comments from previous customers, again creating confidence and consolidating our reputation. We are of course always looking for new customers and welcome any enquiries(Even the phone call is free if you use 08001182059!!!)Feel free to reply with any comments you may have or any advice you may need.Speak to you soonRichard Day
Hi, This is Richard Day from Direct Property Maintenance Services, providing comprehensive property maintenance solutions for domestic and commercial customers. As this is our first blog, i,ll keep it brief! We all know by now that we are in a recession, but in our experience, last year and especially this year, right from the start, people are still spending money on their properties. Roof tiles and guttering will still fall off, timber will rot and plumbing will leak- recession or no recession- those jobs will still be there for us but it is the planned works, ie kitchens, bathrooms, refurbishments etc that are ongoing. It does make sense to carry out improvements to properties and that is what we are seeing(and doing!)Many people(including myself) have rented properties and the upkeep and maintenance of these is essential to prevent possible non-payment of rents and to allow the properties to be rented in the first place.Commercial landlords also have properties(shops, factories, offices etc) that need refurbishment and repair in order to attract new tenants- many businesses do actually start up in a recession and are successful.I would just mention that i am a member of The Worthing Business Circle who have approx 45 members from all types of local businesses and most menbers have reported no change and in many cases an increase in business- it is essential to keep positive and to look ahead- its not the first recession to occur!Anyway, thats it- i thought it was brief!Speak to you soon RegardsRichard
