  • 4 not as good as it used to be?

Theres do doubting this is a lovely restaurant. The first time I went I had the spaghetti with clams and i think my jaw dropped, one of the best pasta dishes id ever had thats for sure. A friend and I used to pop in for a coffee and some side orders (student budget!) because we'd fallen in love with the rosemary potatoes and cold french beans. But I dont know if its unfair to say that its maybe not as good anymore...the last time we went the flavours I experienced before just wasn't quite there. But thats probably being a bit harsh, there's definitely worse Italian restaurants around!

  • 3 Decent for breakfast or lunch

I've came here for breakfast, brunch or lunch a handful of times, and always left feeling somewhat underwhelmed.Don't get me wrong, it's a nice enough place, the staff are friendly, and the food tasty... but somehow there is something missing to pull me back time after time. The coffee is excellent, but maybe the food choice too limited? I know the cafe layout is intentionally so, but I can't help but feel it a little sparse. The little deli at the front is fab though - if a little overpriced!

This is a modest but friendly restaurant with a friendly staff and good well priced Italian food.

  • 1 Slave labour!

The fact that waiting staff are only paid £3.75 an hour with tips used to make this up to the minimum wage leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

  • 4 Reliable Italian

Recently opened - well nearly a year now. Excellent food and a great little deli where you can buy all the Carluccio range of Italian goodies. The deli is quite expensive but you get what you pay for. There is often a queue for the restaurant but it does seem to go down quickly. I have spotted quite a few famous faces in there. Only criticism is that the menu rarely changes, but they do have specials.
