About Us

Brief description

We provide a total design-to-make service in all precious metals: functional, contemporary design, using traditional silversmithing and goldsmithing techniques. A comprehensive portfolio of silver tableware, church plate, commissions and fine gold and platinum jewellery is kept online and in their gallery to help inspire and realise your requirements. We also take on repairs.

The Pruden and Smith workshops in Ditchling have established a name for high quality, handmade, contemporary silverware and jewellery. Formed in heavy hallmarked silver and gold, hammer marks are usually left in. Alongside three generations of uncompromising craftsmanship in Anton’s family, Rebecca’s fine art training ensures design excellence.

Eight ranges of contemporary silver tableware are available from their gallery shop on Ditchling crossroads or online at www.silversmiths.co.uk. The shop also stocks jewellery by Pruden and Smith and six guest makers. Recent commission clients include Portsmouth City Council, Ely Cathedral, and The Commonwealth Secretariat.
